Our Story
Hello!
My name is Christine and I am the owner and founder of Maine Light Australian Labradoodles, LLC. Maine Light was born from my passion, love, and respect for animals. From an early age, I did everything I could to surround myself with them, and learn from them. While training dogs and horses, rescuing field mice and baby birds, and mothering orphaned lambs, I found a special kinship with Mother Nature's creatures. Dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, cows, chickens, robins, dragonflies, and lady bugs. You name it - I loved it. And as I grew, so too did my passion. I studied pre-veterinary medicine at the University of New Hampshire, lived and worked on a sustainable saltwater farm during summers, and went on to receive my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Maine.
Maine Light Australian Labradoodles, LLC. was established in 2009. Our foundation breeding dogs travelled all the way over from Rutland Manor in Australia. Our stellar Rutlands WH Golden Wattle and Rutlands Lil Chocolate Drop formed the foundation of our breeding program. Breeding, raising, training, socializing, grooming, and caring for these amazing animals is the best job on the planet. I couldn't do it without my wonderful family members, guardians, veterinarians, caregivers, dog whisperers, fellow dog breeders, and resident canine helpers. Many, many thanks to them! I am incredibly proud of our dogs and puppies, and strive to provide to you, our Maine Light families, the most wonderful, loyal, intelligent, and heart-tuned puppies possible. Puppies who are nurtured, pampered, socialized, and loved from birth.

Since 2009, we have been providing Australian Labradoodle puppies to our Maine Light families in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, North Carolina, Arizona, Colorado, California, Illinois, and Canada. With more than 12 years of experience working with these intelligent and intuitive animals, we pride ourselves in perfect placements for each family.

Through stringent breeder selection protocols and early neural stimulation and socialization of our puppies, we strive to breed the most healthy, intuitive, balanced, and human-connected dogs possible, in order to further the Australian Labradoodle breed, and to provide our customers with companions who will significantly enrich their lives.
Breeding Protocol
Standards of Excellence.
We breed for health and temperament, first and foremost. All of our breeding dogs must pass our strict breeding protocol of excellence. We test for over one hundred genetic diseases and traits, including vWD, prcd-PRA, EIC, OFA CAER, and OFA Hips and Elbows. All of our dogs must also pass our stringent temperament and conformational assessments.

Guardian Home Program
Join our Maine Light Guardian Family!
All of our breeding dogs live in loving homes as cherished and pampered family members. We place some of our prized breeding prospect puppies with guardian families who would like to share our journey and adopt the best of the breed. Our dogs reside with our guardians and visit us for health testing, breeding, and whelping. We provide ongoing support to our guardians, and highly value their contribution to our breeding program.
